  • Why people dont use Turion???

I seen like most of the people simple ignore the turion and look for a sempron or athlon, that cpu is powerful and takes little power, and you can find a lot of cheap mobo for it.

I am sure people do. But the majority of people use via boards. Then the rest are mostly intel. THe rest are AMD. Most AMD people do use the mobile chip because it only draws 35W. THe Pentium M and Duo Core use the same, and are more suited for a car environment.

Also it is waaaaay overkill. How much power do you need to play music? The answer is next to nothing.

So why buy an expensive chip when you will never put it above 10% load?!

I think the smallest are the 3.5" boards. They're the size of a desktop hard drive.

it seems like a lot of the current Turion processors are going out of stock... they are converting over to the S1 socket (probably has something to do with the inventory levels). I wanted to go that route but since I couldn't find one for a decent price (under 100, or even 150 for that matter) I needed up getting a celeron M for $30

The turion's are cheap on ebay, i get mine for jus $30 with shipping, and almost every athlon 64 ready mobo works with the turion, the mini-itx form is a problem, but i dont need to go that small, cause i have a trunk to put my carPc, and why get less when you can get more, my mobo-cpu will cost me about 70-100, it depends on the mobo i buy.

From the mobo's I've found, it seems that they're not that much cheaper than Intel's.
So, I dont see the value there.
Most CarPc's guys want small, low voltage, and cool. Intels M do good in those fields.

I considered getting a Turion micro atx system, but my Athlon works just fine and uses about the same power. Extra speed wouldn't do anything for me when playing music and movies.

                      Um... I'm using a Turion MT-37 in my design. It's a 25W TDP processor.

I also have a mini-ITX nForce4 platform, and I've had it for about 6 months.

i was really looking into getting a turion, but i couldn't find a decent motherboard.
Are you 2x? Because I want to integrate you from 10 to 13!
