I got this e-mail today from case outlet, aparently you can buy that Ultra small computer I saw a couple months ago. Its a little long, I wonder if it could fit in a dash?

    Here is the link:

it has a firewwire port, 3 usb ports, a r745 and it runs off of 12v, 5.0A. But there is no video out

yeah I ment rca composite video out. I would rather use composite video with my TFT because the cable is so much smaller.. I don't want to deal with a huge god damn vga cable. Does anyone think they could fit 10" of depth in their dash? (wow that almost sounds pornographic)

Actually, I think it would fairly well in the center double vent dash of my Mustang...It would also fit in my radio slot, I think...hmmm
          That'd be cool!

What kind of motherboard is in that thing? I would much rather just buy the small motherboard and go from there.

where would one start modifying the sumicom to be used as a mobile computing platform. I suppose the PSU would be the first to go. Any ideas/suggestions for making it a viable platform?

Well it accepts DC 12V, 5A but I really know nothing about this stuff so I'm sure you will have to do some stuff to connect it to the cars power. Can anyone clue us in what has to be done?

yeah.. for some reason I was considering purchasing one... this will be my first real carputer. I've decided to hash it all out myself. Hell I've got a cardboard mock-up next to my desk now... I'm gonna take it down to the car tomorrow and se if it'll fit where I want it to. If not it's back to the planning table. Wish me luck!

..uh wait on that, let me get it built.. then wish me luck.
