  • VIA EPIA-ML8000A (800mhz) ok for carputer?

Hey all, trying to get my carputer project back up and going... I'm thinking about going with a

VIA EPIA-ML8000A Link to Newegg as the brains... I'm just curious if the 800mhz is going to be beefy enough to play back divx/xvid/mp3's. For ~$115 shipped it definately hit's my budget.

    Thoughts?

I have a mobo similar to that. Epia-800 (one of the first on epia series)

800mhz is ok, but on mine i had to make some tweaking to get video running smooth (specially dvds)
seems that via adjusted all the issues in it's sucessor boards and video now plays fine (with a lot of cpu usage on older mobos, but fine)

i don't plan on using it to play dvd's... just ripped tv shows and such... so from your reply, it sounds like this board would be sufficient?
