  • Building specific 40 pin TFT LVDS female cable to 20 pin JAE Female CON

    Hi,
I am a French, please don’t take to seriously the quality of my post.

I need information, I would like to build my own cable to connect one of those TFT LCD Panel to the LVDS 40 pin connector (Commell LV670LVDS):

I have 3 different panels who were in laptop embedded:
    - UNIPAC UB141X01-2 14" Compaq Presario 12XL530 20 pin JAE connector
    - TORISAN TFT6LCM TM121SV-02L03A 12.1” Presario 16,17, 17xl series
    - Acer display Technology L133x2-3c 20 pin JAE connector.

I have got also the invertors which come with.

    I have tried to find pin out table specifications for those panel but within success;
I would like to know if possible to find connectors for female JAE 20 pin, and LVDS 40 pin.
Which type of cable are recommended ?

I haven’t specific ability in electronic, but well enough motivated for building one or three different cable.
    Can anyone help me?

30 seconds of googling (it wasn't difficult) produced:

    Pinout for panel : http://www.datasheetarchive.com/preview/3512216.html
    Pinout for commel : http://www.computerstate.com/saveAsM...7e5d8c1ae20713

Try digikey for the connectors (you don't say where you are, so I assume US).
What specifically is the problem with building a cable?

Thanks Rob, for the pin out tables for the UB141X-2 panel and for the torisan panel.

        Thanks for digikey too.
For more info in live in Paris in France.

My problems with building those cables are :
I never made one of this before.
What specifically do I have to buy ? what kind of connector : how is it named exactly ?
It seems to me that the 20 pin JAE connector is very thin, also the LVDS 40 pin connector on the LV670 motherboard.
I m looking a kind of connectors for building manually this data cable.
Can you recommend me some kind of those connectors, please ?
What kind of cable will I need?
I will be very interested to find a “how to build ” guide that could show all the needs and different procedures to make it.
        Thanks.

You already know the types of connector if you read the data sheets, just buy them and build the cable already.
The connectors are small - nothing I can do about that for you...! I had to crimp a 1mm pitch connector for my lcd so I know about small connectors.
I'm not going to link to the exact connectors you need to buy - I'm sure you are smart enough to figure this out (I already linked to pinouts/datasheets for you).
