  • Calling Electronics gurus!

    Argg! My remote broke.

A component has disintergrated. It is a orange plastic blob with three legs, and has 4.00Q written on it. Looks a little like a Ceramic capacitor only it has 3 legs. Can anyone help with what this thing is and what to replace it with?

    sounds like a transistor.

Hmm, dont think its a transistor. It has a kind of a blob as a case rather than being angular, if you see what I mean. I think it might be a resonator for regulating the PIC.

I have seen small crystals that looked like that. Probabally 4 MHz

Fixed it! 4mhz resonator with built in capacitor. Works like a charm now. Thanks for help.
