  • MOBO mounting

Does the MOBO have to put mounted on a metal case for grounding purposes? I want to build a plexiglass case for my computer, but I'm not sure if the mobo needs to be on metal to have a good "ground."

    No.
The ground is handled through the 20-pin (or 24-pin) ATX power connector.

Just to back this up. I've never used a case in my car...just a mobo mounted to a piece of MDF.

Yeah the only reason I ask is the soundcard I have won't fit inside the case, so I've had the top off the case since I purchased it. I need to redo my whole trunk area, so I want to make something that looks nice

I don't have a case for my setup either. It is mounted to a 1/2" thick piece of birch plywood inside the center console of my truck.
