  • PC tied into Engine Computer > Check it

    I've been working on this for some time now with great success. I've been developing an interface to make modification of the ECU (Engine Control Unit) code to manipulate engine performance. I've put together a page that details all of it, but the screen shots are old and there are a host of other parameters the user can manipulate.

    I have also edited the code in the ECU to use control circuits for devices that aren't important to engine operation to allow for control sequences for things like nitrous oxide injection, aquamist injection and for boost control. It is only available for the 300ZX twinturbo and naturally aspirated, but I have good reason to believe that with only slight modification of my interface, it can be used on other nissan vehicles.

      im looking for a 510 right now!!!! where are you from inline? im having a ***** of a time finding one in the midwest. basically the only ones i see are in cali or thereabouts... kinda sucks that i would have to fly out to see one if i wanted to buy it.

      the sr20det swap is phenominal in the 510. they are becoming quite common, so there are a lot of parts out there for the conversions.

      oh, sorry about the thread hijacking there ash... that program sounds great. now only if i had the nice VG30DETT to use it on... but hey, that can go in a 510 too, well the N/A can fit quite nicely, but not the TT.

          That's very cool. I wish such a thing was possible with the RX-7 ECUs, but Mazda made the damn things so closed...

          However, how have you solved the latency problem with the PC? There were some guys in Ottawa who were running a 20B (three rotor) off of a P3, but kept popping the engine due to the interrupted nature of the PC processor.

              rear 1/4 panel needs to get a donor part... a part of the trunk board as well... floorboards need to go

              I'm going to get it as close to a good rust repaired shell as I can before I start...


              as for the vg30de and det, they make the car front heavy

                The PC isn't running as the the ECU, just the prom. It's much easier to emulate prom's.
                From what the ECU would see, it wouldn't be able to see the difference between the emulator and the actually chip.

                  So what you saying is that you have the PC connected to the ECU all the time? (in place of the eprom?)
                  What happens if the PC crashes?
                  where would the ECU get its mapping and stuff? and how dangeros is it for the engine ?

                  Never the less great work and achivment.

                  One more question... how did you reverse enginered the code inside the EPROM?
