  • Rear view cameras

    Hello,
I am in process of installing a carputer. I am use a Xerarc 7" lcd and Aopen mp945 pc. I want to add 2 cameras, one in the front and one rear. Can anyone suggest or recommend a good quality camera.

Also if it possible to integrate the camera so when i put my car to reverse, the cameras will come on itself?

I greatly appreciate if anyone can help

    thank you

Make sure you get a reverse image camera for the rear.
I got mine on ebay last year for 1 cent then $23 for shipping, it looks just like this one
    http://cgi.ebay.com/REAR-VIEW-CAR-BA...d=p3286.c0.m14

I have that as my backup camera and it's actually really good.
I don't have a carpc yet, but on my screen one of the inputs is a default a to when that input gets power it switches over to that one automatically.

keep in mind that if you want the monitor input to switch to reverse view, you need a monitor with a trigger.

Xenarc has 3 inputs av1, av2 and pc. I can switch input with the remote control, however the monitor is going to be hide behind the console bezel therefore i have to hold the remote 1/2" in font of the lcd to get it work. Is there any usb camera has a switch that can trigger a program to display recordings.

do you want a usb camera that triggers recordings or live feed?
also do you want to use the rear camera every time you are reversing.
if so that would be a pain to use the remote for parking situations.
so you might want a monitor that has auto reverse trigger built-in.

do any of the more popular monitors have that auto-turn on trigger function? I have the new Lilliput 829 and I didn't see it but there were a whole bunch of options.
