  • Is hardware from dealextreme.com any good?

A coworker told me about www.dealextreme.com, this site is crazy. I don't know how everything is so cheap, maybe it doesn't work, but I'd like to order some stuff to find out. Anyone know if this stuff would be any good on my car computer?

    Bluetooth mirror:

    microphone:

    in car cameras:
    http://www.dealextreme.com/details.dx/sku.13052
    http://www.dealextreme.com/details.dx/sku.5891

Looks like SPAM, I know but I took a while putting this list together and I'm wondering if half this stuff would work. There's a pile of other stuff there too, even capture cards for the cameras. What do you think?

It's just like any cheap chinese stuff you would get at a flea market or in chinatown. Just dont expect high quality. About 90%+ of the stuff I order from dealextreme works like fine. Occasionally, stuff arrives DOA, or the memory cards might be fake (aka order a 2gb, but only 512 works), but customer service is great and they deal with it promptly.

Hey, you're in Calgary too, so was it truly free shipping? And once when I bought a legitimate flash drive locally I couldn't use more than 512 until I formatted it for FAT32 and then I could use it all. Try that. And thanks, I'm going to try out some of the night vision cameras for reverse and see how they are.

Yes it is truly free shipping. It takes a while though, sometimes over 4 weeks.

Hopefully I'll have it before the Driven 2009 show at the Big Four in June. Come check out my car if you're there, I'll be showing. Oops, got to go register....

My best advise would be don't buy anything that doesn't have a whole lot of reviews, and read all of them first. And some reviews are never seen. lol Some things are really cheaply made, some not so bad, and most of it's a pretty good value.

Cool sounds great, Ill keep that in mind if I go to DTP this year. Unfortunately I was out of the city most of the summer, so I missed out on DTP 08.

Ya, me too. I moved down to Atlanta in 2007 and then to New York before bringing the car back to Canada. I showed at DTP 2007 though.

I've ordered from them a few times now. Yes, the shipping takes forever, but it's free and it does eventually come. Everything that has a brand name is fake, or most likely fake. It doesn't mean it's junk, but it's something to remember. Most of the stuff works well enough and is a good value.

I think you must be cheated

Wow, you thought those things were cheap? So, you don't know much about China. Another similar China-based website is named Tinydeal.com. You just need to have a look at the links below to know more about the outside world. Have a comparison.

I'm not the boss the this company, so I don't wanna show more of its products. You can compare more products if you wish.

I ordered some of the little BT adaptors to play audio in the car. They work like they're supposed to.
