  • Shuttle FV24 Video out problem

Everything is fine from the VGA port but SVHS is outputting nothing...

Have I blown the chrontel chip?

I know everything before the screen is fine...

ive checked all bios settings, not there

    is this a common problem?

If so is there a fix other than sending the mobo back to manufacturers, maybe a bios flash or so?

My processor cooked in the machine a week or so back could it be related?

    Thanks

    Jose

some tv chips will not let you use VGA output and VIDEO output at the same time, so if you have them both hooked up at the same time i would try using only the video out port and see what u get--good luck

Im pretty sure that svideo is svideo. Im not familiar with the fv25, but there's not a jumper or dip switch to pick the svideo or the composite video is there? also, I know on my epia m, the svideo was the default choice for tv out, it might be the opposite for this.

            Some things to check

Open up your bios and on the main screen (where you set up drives) there will be a setting for the display type. Set it to tv or tv + crt. If that option is not there, you need to update your system bios. There was a nice chart on the shuttle site that they called an fv24 faq, but they seem to have changed everything around and i cant find it. This was the next best thing i could find

This should atleast allow you to see the post screens. If you see post but video goes away when windows starts, you have a driver/setting problem.

Check to see that the display you are using has around 75 ohms on the video input. If the video input has a very high impedence, the mainboard will not be able to detect its presence and will not enable the video out. A quick test would be to connect the fv24 to a regular tv which will have the correct input impedence. You can search the board for fixes if this is your problem.

check to make sure your wires are good, correct input selected on your display, etc.

If youve checked these things and still can see the post screen, you have a bad board.
