  • Two nice looking cameras and cheap at that....

Okay im just wondering if anyone here has used either of these devices as they both have a good use... If they are true to their specs...? Both on ebay of course

The first one is a "sort of" pin hole camera but might be what people are after for hidden/reverse cameras: 5.0 Mega Pixel Driverless USB Pinhole Camera Webcam $25.99 Australian

The second one claims to be upto 36Mega pixel by using a dual corell processor and allow upto 160fps: 20M USB 20.0 MEGA Webcam PC Video Camera+Earphone w/Mic $9.88 Australian

Don't get the 20 megapixel camera! First the page is written weird probably a scam ( a dual core camera? that's fake). Also 20 megapixels doesn't mean its a good camera. Megapixels have nothing to do with quality. Megapixels determine the size of the image. That 20 megapixel camera can display a picture at 7680 x 4800. Your screen is probably 800x600 which means its with be resized down (images probably will get pixalated) and take up a lot of space. Since it's so cheap it will probably have a bad quality.

Also HD video at 160 fps is good, but with a crappy camera. It's going to take up A LOT of space (guessing ~600MB per minute).

So you are going to get HUGE crappy images and video with this camera.

    PS a ~36 Megapixel image http://www.flysas.com/upload/Interna...front-view.jpg

    It's 4.5MB!

I realize that the 20/36 megapixel camera wont be of the best quality, But curious if any one has purchased one of these as even if it is only a true 5MP or so. More then likely its advertising a interpolated resolution.

But the use of a high resolution camera does have its purpose when used in the right setup for the right feature. Also even if it is a half decent web cam, the price does seem pretty good. So yea just hoping someone can review it?

What do you think about the first one, size wise for the a internal spy cam? Of course all of these would be paired up with some IR Boards

For the other one. 5MP is a little big image size wise. And its also going to have crappy quality. I am probably going to get a crappy like this. It's 5Megapixels, it has 6 IR LEDs for crappy night vision, but it suits my needs and its only $5US or $5.44 Australian dollars

I personally do not like any cameras that have the IR attached to them, I prefer to have the IR leds located else where and projecting in the same direct as the camera is. With the right setup i have manged to improve some of the night quality. Or worsen it when not checking before finishing the install. Plus it allows the camera to be hidden easily and have the IR leds not to far away but hidden as well

No the 20/36 MP will produce a crappy HUGE image, not a decent one. What make a good shot is bigger lenses (think SLRs, this has a small lens), good image processors (this has a crappy one), and type of len (this one has a low quality CMOS sensor). The first one is just expensive. For that quality you can find one cheaper.

5.0 mega pixels , high resolution COMS color sensors
6 mm lens, 60 visual angles
              Interface: USB, USB 2.0 compatible
              Hi-resolving power: 1024 x 768 / 800 x 600
OK, so it has a COMS sensor, a whopping 60 visual angles, USB (not 2.0, but compatible), and Hi-resolving powers!

Is this in engrish? And yeah that lens is tiny. I think there's a lot of false advertizing going on. That 5MP IR one shows up as all kinds of different megapixels from other sellers.

i lol'ed at the ridiculous megapixel claims. what you're looking at is cheap chinese brand webcams, and they really sucks. they're certainly cheap, but they do not live to these specs. If quality is a concern go spend money on a decent quality webcam and you'll definitely paid way more than those ebay things, but you'll know what you're getting is true to their spec.
