  • Real quick question

So my neighbor just bought a brand new mack daddy package mopar 2011 R/T Charger, with the factory nav, and first thing he did was bring it to my driveway to ask questions about putting a computer in it as well...

It already has all of the stuff (Climate control, nav, parking sensors, rearview screen, etc.) integrated with the factory stuff, but he wants that added functionality of the internet and PC factor of it (outlook, internet browser, etc). Price really isn't a factor in this project. I let him know that the easiest way to do it would probably be using the a/v settings, and that the touchscreen wouldn't be accessible and instead, most people do a laptop type mouse pad. He was fine with that, but it was a while ago since I did mine (used a Lilliput screen) and I don't really keep up with the community as much as I could. I was wondering if it is still the easiest way to just use an extra a/v mode on the screen in the dash, and just use a mousepad, or if there was a relatively doable way of integrating the touchscreen as well. Soldering is not an issue, but obviously, I am not an electrical engineer and won't be drawing up any circuits to hijack the signal or anything. So would it still be the most practical to use a mouse pad, or is there a tested method of using the factory touchscreen as well? Assume all work should be relatively reversible. Thanks for any help, and I do admit, I did a few google searches for a quick answer but didn't search as much as I should have :P shoot me lol.

Ok, thanks. Ya I pretty much figured that but didn't wanna be kicking myself if it was a really easy solution now.
