  • VoomPC Case With M4-ATX & TDA7850? Or Alternative Case?

Evening. With my touch screen now ordered, it's time to look at building the PC. Space is very tight.... I have about 65mm of height, 280mm length and 240mm width to play with which is really pushing me towards a VoomPC case. I'd like to use an M4-ATX PSU, but I've not seen any discussions on the two working together. In addition, I'm going to use a TDA7850 internal amp. Has any one sucessfully used all 3 together before? If so, any comments?

I'm not fussed about a CD ROM (that'll only be used to load Windows), so internally I only need room for a 2.5" HDD and the amp. Mobo is not selected yet and everything else will be USB.

If anyone can recommend any alternative to the VoomPC, I'd also be interested to hear back from you, just be aware of my tight space restrications!

    Thanks, Mark

sorry to say this but the M4 will not fit in a voom case without serious modification. if you are happy to modify and customise then it will fit (i have a voom with an M4) but its very far from plug and play

Oh, that's shame. What type of mods are required?

In terms of my options then..... Would an M3 fit and would I notice much difference between an M3 & M4 PSU? Maybe there's an alternative case that will fit my space requirements? Any thoughts anyone?

with mine i had to build a mount to hold the board, cut it down slightly relocate all the connectors and move some of the capacitors.

M3 would fit fine, the M4 would give you power power and is a bit smarter, but the M3 should function fine as long as you don't have a demanding motherboard.
