  • Andrea microphone array / Mobilephone.net - echoes in conversation (repost)

I posted this in the RR forum because of the mobilephone plugin, but realize this is probably more of a general hardware issue that exists outside of the RR world.

I could really only find examples of this with the Centrafuse guys, but it seems they have been able to resolve it. I just got my Andrea Superbeam microphone array and installed mobilephone.net with my bluesoleil software. The person on the other end gets a bad echo, and I know why it's happening, but what have you guys done to fix your own problems or avoid it? It would be nice if Mobilephone.net could implement a half-duplex mode or something.

135 views and not a single answer....tells me that there is no software solution around this. I splurged and bought the Phoenix audio echo/noise canceling microphone. With the speaker input, I have high hopes for this. We'll see in a few days.

I downloaded Centrafuse and it still had the same echo, so the post I saw about CF having been able to get around it was obviously a fraud.

Most people use the andrea array with the phoenix soho echo cancelling card they only need power via the pci slot so most peeps just solder wires to the card and power it that way. just a thought SNO
