  • Car Tutorial/Articles?

Hey everyone! I just got my car about 3 weeks ago and want to really learn about cars. I was wondering if anyone has some really good websites about how the engine works and how to troubleshoot a lot of different things. I also would like a website that explains how to do simple things like change your oil. I know i can just type in "change your oil" in google but that usually just ends up giving me a site that only explains how to change your oil, i would want one that explains that and many more things. Thanks a lot everyone :-D!!!!

What kind of car do you have? Look around for an Enthusiast site for your car. I know for mine I can go to www.audiworld.com and for lexus they have Clublexus.com try looking for something like that. Most of the people are really friendly and willing to help. They also have great ideas on different mods (modifications) you can do to your car. Many also have GTGs (Get togethers) where you can meet up with people and see there cars and what they have done, etc.

You could go to www.about.com and do a search on "Internal combustion engine". That should give you a bunch of things to read.

You could go to webring and look at the different honda civic rings.
            here is the largest one.

            http://t.webring.com/hub?ring=hondaacurapower

How much information do you want? Do you want to read a lot?
Do you have some specific questions?

I am posting so of the papers that I have writen to my website. You can go there and read them if you want.
            The address is
            www.mobilmultimedia.com/writeups/Automotive

They are up loading right now but there will be one on EGR, Electrical Control systems, and Intake manifolds. There is also a powerpoint presentation on intake manifold design. They might not be the best documents in the world, but the are pretty good.

Let me know if I can be of any more help.

The Haynes manuals are also a good place to look, like was said earlier.

I throw in a second vote for howstuffworks.com . Everything is written in simple language, and it covers a huge variety of topics.
