  • remote pc starter

    anyone interested in a remote pc starter
    local or semi local computer place has
    some remote pc starter kits
    with a car alarm style keychain remote
    they are 24$ a piece from the store
    i have not messed with one but it comes with the receiver board and connectors to turn on the pc and put it in suspend or hibernate sposed to get its power from the mother board ..
    and the transmitter fob

    figured someone might be interested in them

    I would be interested, can you get some pics or specs of it?
    EPIA 800, DWW-7VGA LCD w/Touchscreen, 256mb ram, dvd rom, ati radeon 7000 video card, 80 gb 3.5" hard drive.

      yeah next time i go down there .. should be this friday or saturday my new house pc case should be here then and i may need some more fans
      its about a hour drive from my house and only a half hour from where i work ..
      i may even pick one up
      i think it was originally inteded for home pc use..
      cause it makes no mention of cars and i think the pics on the box show a home computer

              I suppose this is kinda cool but ok in a car enviornment with such as an OPus power supply, how would you turn your pc on with this?

              At home I suppose this would work perfectly.
              Mine needs to be updated.

                not having a opus i can only guess that it would work the same way as long as the opus had the keyswitch signal wire jumped or so

                and guessing that when the pc is off teh current drain is very little?
