  • anything other then parallel cable?

Has anyone successfully used any other sort of cabling other then 25 pin parallel cable to hook up there lcds? Like run the printer port into HD15 cabling so its smaller?

I'm looking for alternatives as usual serial cables are so fat.

I have no experience with hooking up LCDs through the 25 pin method, but I doubt you can use a printer port to output video. A regular printer port has a VERY slow data rate that couldn't handle the bandwidth video would need.
    Just my $.02

Personally I'd use Cat5 cable... it's relatively small and relatively cheap... but running parallel you're probably going to have to run at least 2 strands to get all the pins you need (8 pins in each strand).

Personally I'm going the serial route... it's cheap, easy to work with and I can use up the 1000ft spool of Cat5 cable I have in my garage

        Is CAT5 shielded enough?
