  • lowest power consumption mobo -&- safe time to run carputer

im wondering what mobo cpu combo has the lowest power consumption
my natural assumption is the via epia line and if so, what model? (processing power isnt very important)

    also
what would be an estimage for the safe amount of time a carputer could be run for just off of battery

    thanks

You could get an Epia with 266Mhz Samsung S3C2410 ARM9 processor. Less than 2W
    link

Otherwise the next best thing is the Epia 5000

I've run my setup off the battery for a couple hours without problems.

Click the link on that page called "EPIA Power Simulator"

It'll give you the power consumption on your entire setup with most of the EPIA boards.

EDIT: Don't forget, power supplies are not 100% effecient, DC-DC are a lot more effecient than an inverter and ac-dc combo, but the Opus 90W is still only about 80% effecient.
