  • Best RAM today?

so when i built my first computer about 5 years ago, Micron was the best stuff out there. I have bought nothing but micron for the last five years, but I am assuming that someone has better stuff by now.

I am going to build myself a nice machine for video editing. [email protected] 800MHz, with an Asus P4P800 deluxe motherboard.

so, what's the best stuff to get right now? I read a review somewhere that said OCZ was great stuff, but i have never heard of them.

I had excellent stability with Kingston and Crucial memory. Most people agree that Corsair is good, but I'm never used their memory.

I'm running Corsair low latency matched pair dual DDR400 right now on a P4C800, and it's very stable. Always used no name stuff at PC133 but at higher clocks I figured that I'd get some good stuff. Been very happy with it.

okay, so i think i'm gonna go with some corsair TwinX1024-3200LLPro sticks. They come as matched pairs and have these really nifty memory usage LEDs on top. $288 for the PC3200 sticks, $350 for the PC4000 sticks.

I wont be getting anything til january, so prices may fall. I have never spent more than $100 on any RAM, and I think thats why my computers always have performance issues

I dont know what the best sticks are. But i can say, dont ever get compusa memory. I dont know why they call their memory, memory. They should call it amnesia. Anyway's i bought a 256 ddr400 amnesia stick from compusa. Later i replaced it with the same type of memory but from crucial. Crucial ran more effiently and was a helluvalot cheaper
