I have an older ATX mobo laying around from a gateway pc. I think its samsung, Mp4m-23a, anyway its pretty standard onboard audio, trident video, Lan, 2 usb's. Its running a socket 7, k6-2/500 cpu, 2 dimm slots. I also have a 40 gig western digital with win xp pro and a new 52x cd-rom that I can use. Should work fine if i drop in about 512 megs of pc 133 ram and trim down XP right?

I want to get a lilliput screen, but i've seen alot of complaints about them so I'm starting to consider getting the xenarc instead.

For power I'm planning on using an inverter wiring that to dc toggle switch located before the inverter, this way i should be able to control start up/shut down after the car is running by just hitting the toggle switch. I have 4 gauge stinger cable running from the battery to a distribution bock so I can tap power right from my distribution block to an inverter/switch. I had my stereo wired this way in my previous car and it worked fine, so long as you didnt forget to shut down when you got out of the car.

The seats in the PT are set up pretty high so i have a nice little drawer under the passenger seat that would be perfect to mount all of this with a little mod and the addition of a cooling fan.

So what ya think, see any snags in the system so far?
    Thanks for the advice

my system is similiar to yours and it works just fine. I don't use anythoing on board though and i have a 9 inch widescreen screen.

The onboard sound might really suck since you have some good sound equipment in your ride so you might wanna look into at least a sb live card.
