  • UBS and hibernation... cont'd

Ok. I've searched about the USB hibernation problem... and the following thread and link states that it affects W2K SP3 and XP SP1. http://www.mp3car.com/vbulletin/show...=usb+hibernate

Does anyone know if W2K SP4 fixes the issue?

Is WinXP SP2 supposed to fix this issue?

Supposed to, but I don't have a problem with any of the USB devices I use, with WinXP SP1, coming out of hibernation/standby.

What I do have a problem with, is if a program using the USB GPS is running when I put the pc into standby, then on resume that program will say it can't detect the GPS or com port. I don't have to unplug the device, just close the program and restart it (except in the case of Destinator, which hangs).
Seems like they attempt to connect and time out before the USB device has been re-initialised?
