  • Need a bracket to put a slim CD in a normal 5.25" bay

I need a bracket to mount a slimline CD drive in a normal 5.25" drive bay. Does anyone know where I can get one? I've Googled and searched, but I can only find the IDE to slimline adapters, not the mounting bracket.

    Thanks,
    Tom

P.S. In fact, I would settle for ANY kind of slimline CD bracket, since I could hack it and attach it to a 3.5" to 5.25" adapter bracket!!

I don't remember where I saw it, but I'll try digging it up.

It was a 5.25 bracket that held a slim cd, 3.5" floppy (Or whatever) and 2.5" hard disk.

Perhaps someone here has a better memory as to where it was...

well.. I found some, but they are VERY expensive...the cheapest I found is here and still way more than I would spend! I would try searching eBay for rackmount stuff. That is their primary use. I searched "rackmount 5.25 slim" to see what it came up with... http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...480831565&rd=1
Looks pretty nice for 1/3 the price.

Yea, that's the bracket that I used to hold everything together, behind the plastic plate.

Hey Scott, can you post a link to that card reader? I know there's several black ones on the market, but I like the layout of that one.

            Thanks,
            Tom
