  • What usb hubs are you guys using

I'm looking to pick up a low priced usb 2.0 hub that can be fun off my opus (5v atx line). Any suggestions?

    fun off your opus eh?

lol...why does it have to be run off your opus? so the hub won't pull power off your motherboard when you're in standby?

go to www.pricewatch.com and search for usb hub

Oh, I also need it to have square edges so I can flush mount it easier.

I guess it would unless he's powering something heavy

A "powered" usb hub implies that an ac adaptor is used.

As I just read in another post, a powered USB hub will ensure each port gets 500mAh whereas and unpowered will split a total of 500mAh between the ports plus itself. I'm currently thinking of the D-Link DUB-H7. It's got 7 ports on it and it is powered.

Well, I'm hoping that I can find one that works with by using either the 5V or 12V wire from a molex connector on an opus.

you realize most "powered" hubs will also work unpowered and will basically only power low power devices: keyboard, mouse..etc.

I have mine with the 5v off the opus and it's enough to power my usb dvd.

                      I am using this thing:

So far this works the best for me and it's never "exceeded power" so far.
                      Mine needs to be updated.
