                External USB Video Card:
EverythingUSB has a little info on an external USB video card set to go on sale this month for $80. There is a link to a video demo too.

The bus-powered USB adapter supports 1024 x 768 resolution with 16-bit color and 800 x 600 with 32-bit color. On Netchip website, thereís a video demo showcasing how the NET2280 can extend desktop area instantly by plugging in the device.

It better be at least USB 2.0. Don't expect anything great out of this either. The absolute best that USB 2.0 can do it 400 Mb/s and that is shared between all USB devices. Even PCI can do 1017.2 Mb/s. An AGP port can send data in 1x mode at 2034 Mb/s and the newest AGP cards can run at 8x that speed. Whatever direct 3D support it has will probably be very poor.

I kind of figured that when i found the specs of the PCI interface chip, so if it supports 1024x768 in 16bit color that means it has, what, maybe 4MB of video ram?
and besides what PCI card do you know that even uses half thier available transfer rate?
