  • corsa carpc stage 1 it works !!!!!!

    Hi all,

after much work , research and testing i finaly have a pc in my car.

it's at stage 1 get it in and see if it works.

next is get rid of the bugs / problems and then tidy it all up.

so far the biggest problem is a lack of a volume control to quickley change it. I would like to use the wheel mounted controler but so far no luck. Any one ever got a 2000> corsa/astra steering wheel control working ?

I also need to get gps working but thats an easy one as i have a hicom gps and navigator software.

Some pics of the install so far.

epia cl1000 mobo with 512mb ddr with opus 90w psu. the hdd is behind the mobo and i have to fir the slm dvd in too. It wll be coverd with cloth possble leaving the area with the mobo clear. I think it needs a fan grill too.

SPL 1200w 5.1 amp from ebay with usb soundblaster mp3+

    Both in the boot

Front screen mounted in pleace of the dual din stereo

    complete with velcro mountng system

i might fit it into the dash later.
It's hard to see in the day with sun glear.

    running frodoplayer very nice.

I have a usb wintv with fm radio so i can also use a rear view cam but had problems with radiator. A friend is getting me a dlink to try.

I happened upon this USB InfraRed webcam on eBay, thought I'd leave a note for you. I haven't used it, didn't look into it, and in no way recommend or have any opinion on it.

I would look for a wide angle camera for backup - here is the cheapest one I could find, but it does not have the LED's:

here is a pic from another seller:

I don't have this camera, since I am still deciding where to put one, but I can't see much use of a normal (not wide angle) camer for a reverse camera.

one question - with the velco mounting, how do you deal with the cables coming out of the bottom right hand corner of the lilliput ? (they arent even visible in your pics!)

          just wonering! Thanks

sorry i have not replied sooner and thanks for the cam links everyone.

you can just see them at the side of the heater control.

Everything is still working but i am having keyboard problems. I have a usb mini keyboard but windows does not find it the next time it re-boots.
I was thinking of using a sky navigator with girder or something I think some one else did this here before.

Looks good for a Corsa with a full integrated install.

                Hey, I like it.
But you should use another Skin, Try Brushed Aluminium Skin http://www.mp3car.com/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=41596 its not so dark as yours so ist better to read with sunlight. It will also fit better in your Car, because of the silver
