  • Fried mobo->ALIVE- Opus to blame

So begins the next saga of the Fried motherboard...common thread...

So I pulled my mobo out of the car to put the new one in, I'd found an old pci video card and decided to throw it on the board and see if it brought it to life... and whatdyaknow,
    a ressurection.

Turns out my mobo even works without the pci video car... it was the opus all along.

So, now I need to find out what is wrong with my opus,

    With the symptoms i've had...

    Loss of VGA signal,
Momentary Logo display and then a black screen,
    Normal Hardrive/System/Fan startup
    the Beep.......Beep-Beep....Beep

What is wrong with my opus?

Well, what was beeping, the motherboard? If so, you can look those beep codes up. They will tell you what the problem was.

Also, maybe remove and reseat your RAM sticks. Same for any PCI cards you might have. Double check your in car mounting to make sure there aren't any shorts. The screw holes in the motherboard are a common place for this to happen.

Plug the Opus into another motherboard or get a voltmeter to check it out.
