  • USB FM Mouse

This is my first post. I've been reading these forums for awhile now. I'm starting to put together my system (still need lilli) and I had a question.

    I did first....

Since Dlink doesn't make the usb radio anymore, I was wondering if this would work.

    FM Mouse

I mean, you wouldn't have to actually use the mouse, you could fasten it to your cpu case or whatever. Its 10.75 shipped for me, but before I checked it out, I figured I would ask if anyone had any exp. with this product

I love the story about about the kid and dog dressing up for halloween. I guess you could rip it's ball out and use it. I wonder how good it works? it needs a dedicated line in input, does the d-link need that?

Yeah, that's an interesting way to intro a product.

After sifting through (it seems this was popular across the pond), it looks like the dlink is not only usb

      Manual

If I'm not mistaken, that's a line in cord right next to the usb.

the only thing that's different, other than it being a mouse, is the fact that it has a wire for an antenna instead of 1 "rabbit ear"

it looks like the mouse uses one of those wire dipole antennas. I guess you could just drape it over the hood or tape it to the rear window

I have an FM card, it uses the same antenna, I hooked up the car antenna and it worked ok, about as good as it did with the dipole

How did you hook up the car antenna? What type of fm card do you have. Is it a tv tuner/fm card or FM only?

I cut the original antenna plug off and soldered on an 1/8 plug that I got from radio shack. It's an old Reveal ISA FM radio card. It's not the greatest card in the world but it works. It has trouble scanning for stations and the selectivity is pretty lousy, but it gets all my favorite stations and I have them on presets. I'mn using it with Win 2K and I use Radiator. I don't understand why I can go to wal-mart and buy a little pos radio that works great and I can't find a good one to hook to the computer. I'd like AM too.
