No need to get a 8x AGP videocard for DVD playback or TV tuner. Save your money and use a PCI slot.

Well, if you allready have an AGP slot, get an APG card. Save those PCI's for wireless ethernet or something else to take some bandwidth off your USB.

I've had good luck with the ATI all in wonder series. They have a lot of functionality and come with some good software packages. Dont need to go insano and get the 9600 AIW- I have the 7500 and it works fine. BTW- Your mobo supports 8x AGP but doesn't require it. It should be backwards compatible with 1X,2X,4X modes.

Yes!! 1X-2X can not be used with newer 8X and agp PRO, only 4X-8X.

              Right.
Doesn't matter though unless he decides to buy a used card.

If I were you I would go to pricewatch.com and buy the cheapest video card you can. Unless of course you want to watch TV. Is this for your home PC or is this going in you car? If it is going in your car you are going to have to buy extra equipment to watch TV. To me it doesn't seem worth it. If not, there are a lot of cards that have TV tuners. Any new card will allow you to play DVDs.

                  this is for my car.
pip those will not work for my car it has to be for a xga screen so i would need a vga port.

The top link that pip posted includes a dongle that goes from their half-sized DVI-looking port to standard VGA. ATI calls it the 'output adapter'.
And if you'd read the product description or even looked at the pictures, you'd know this.

what about say for an EPIA M10000 board. The onboard video is a bit slow, and I plugged in a FX5200 PCI card into the PCI slot (only one on this board) and it wouldnt boot!! Doesnt like the power requirements.
So what video card would be more siutable? quicker than the onboard video, but not overcome the power supply. (power supply is a 200watt plug onto motherboard version from ITX)

                        cheers
