  • Audigy 2 NX in Standby (Current Draw/Reliability)

I have an Audigy 2NX (USB soundblaster) and I have been hesitant to used it in my car pc due to Standby concerns.

Does the Audigy 2NX need to be powererd during standby? Will it be functional if power is removed during standby?

If so, does anyone know how much current it draws during standby.

I have my USB plugged into the remote turn on wire for my amp. Works like a charm. When I turn the car on, power is applied and the USB resumes perfectly. I have it going into a custom built 5V voltage regulator that pushes up to 2Amps.

That is good to hear. Is your 5V regulatort a TI PT6212. That is what I use to power the standby power rail on my motherboard.
