  • Asus Pundit Power On Button

Hello fellow mp3car friends. I am wondering if anyof you out there uses the Asus Pundit as your car pc, and if so if you have extended the power button on the front bezel. Its not like your normal switch that just plugs into the motherboard, the button is actually soldered on, and you cannot remove the moptherboard from the case. If anyone one has an idea, or a solution please let me know.
How in the world would you put the special AirPort card in a PC? Mine is a Mac anyway but it's too old to AirPort. I just use a zip drive to transfer.

hahhaa this was a bit trickky... if you look at the button from the top you'll see a tiny peice of metal exposed... i used my soldering iron to melt the plastic around it abit and i was able to solder on a small wire... at wire has the 3.3v on it. all you have to do it ground it and the pc turns on.. ill try to get pics maybe this weekend if you still need help.. Good luck

I just soldered onto the 2 pins coming out from the button going into the mb and ran that wire to my on\off controller. The 2 pins are the same as the two pins that a power button would normally connect to the mb with. It's just a little hard to get to the pins.
