  • M10000 problem

Ok, so i bought a m10000 on ebay....hoping all would be well.

Heres my issue, when the post screen apears it says "Warning CPU has changed, please enter CPU settings in cmos and remember to save changes."
However when I press DEL to enter the cmos, the system reposts.....anybody have this issue? Could this be due to having pc2700 ram instead of pc2100 (i know some machines require the exact bus speed). or could it be because I only have a HDD hooked up?

ok new problem. This is not a fanless version of the motherboard, and my PC Heath shows my processor is running at 204 F!!! and my CPU fan speed is at zero. The voltage for the CPU is 1.4v....is this too high?

Ahh Peoples, the post whore of post whores...
Sound to me like a defective mobo. The cooler of the CPU from the M10000 cannot be removed, thus resulting in not being able to change the CPU. So, if your screen shows that the CPU has been changed...well, not good. I too have a M10000, and no problems here. It works fine with a PC2700 DDRAM stick, with one HDD, or with HDD and a CD ROM, except I can't enter BIOS by simply pressing del. I have to clear the BIOS forst. Is it the same for you?

well, i think i just made another leap in finding the issue with this pc. I believe the CPU fan is dead, which is probably why the guy got rid of this to begin with. I hooked up and old pentium 2 cpu fan up to the prongs to see if it was sending juice, and sure enough this thing was going at 3900 RPM. So i guess my next step is to find a replacement fan for this mofo of a mobo

Well, after i changed a setting to load fail-safe defaults, now I cant get into the bios at all, once again. I think maybe this cmos needs to be flashed, and it def needs a new CPU fan....anyone know where to get one?

Thats is some weird, i got the same problem on a ATX motherboard, happens everytime i turn off the power supply for about 1-2hrs, i thought it was the csmos battery that was dead but i replaced this and i'm still getting that same error. Sometimes it will do that even if i leave the power supply on, kinda fuct up eh?
I flashed the BIOS to the latest version, nothing changed
I also noticed that default setting set my ram speed @ 266, i have a 333 stick in there but i'm thinking it's doing that cause my CPU has 400FSB.

It could also be damaged, maybe
I built my carPC case while the motherboard was mounted on it, to get the mesurements. I dremeled the ***** out of it so it wouldn't surprise me a tiny metal peice that stuck to the mobo is causing a short or fried something related to the csmos memory or autodectect. Obviously i don't care much about this board.

I hope you find the problem, if you do let me know
