  • A dream

Literally, I just woke up and I had this dream last night.

I was sitting in my home theater, complete with a DLP projector hanging from the ceiling. I was enjoying my THX 7.1 surrouing sound, watching the big game (Colts at Patriots). It was all being recorded on my PVR (Windows Media Center PC) How was it all controlled?

Dual Xenarc 700TSVs mounted up on each armrest. On controlled the PC/PVR, the other controlled the Hi-Def cable box in place of a remote. These were mounted on a lazy-boy recliner called the "Captains Chair."

The Captains Chair was in the center of the theater, higher than the rest of the seats. The rest of the seats were movie theater style seats, but there were only 2 rows of them (it's a small theater)

That was the best part of my dream, the entire dream was actually about the whole house which was neat. Just a dream though, however I do have an HD TV for the game today, and it is DLP Maybe it's an sign and I should go buy a screatch ticket or something.

I hate you with every fibre of my being.

Here's why. last year I got a HDTV and for the superbowl I was going to add HDTV package to my cable, BUT the game was on CBS which for some reason doesn't not broadcast their HD signal on comcast cable (Rumor has it that the local channel is owned by a cable company, not comcast). This year it's on FOX! WAHHHOOOO!! So I got the HD hooked up this last Friday. I had to get it in time so I could watch what is probably the biggest game of the year, PATS/COLTS. So once it was all set up and working I went to titanTV to see what channel and day that game was on.............You guessed it, CBS!!!!!! AAARRRRRGGGGGGHH!!!

Are you sure you don't get it in HD? I have comcast and I get it. Channel 004 is CBS for me... channel 804 us CBSHD... granted the program has to be filmed in HD for it to be shown in HD (other wise 804 is just digital, which is still better than 004)

These are my Comcast HD channels for where I live in MA:

          802 ... PBS HD
          804 ... CBS HD
          805 ... ABC HD
          807 ... NBC HD
          825 ... FOX HD
          849 ...ESPN HD <---woot!
          881 ... INHD (A 24/7/365 HD channel)
          882 ... INHD2 (Another 24/7/365 HD channel)
882 ... NESN HD (NESN in HD for local Red Sox games in HD)

CBS in HD for football is almost orgasmic.... It's up there with Doom3 on on my 50" DLP.... god love friends with DVI cables that I can borrow.

Since where on HD I should say this:

I know tons of people who say "Is HD worth it? I can't tell the difference between DVD and VHS" Well because 004 and 804 are the same channel for me, one in 4:3 analog broadcast, the other in 16:9 (which my TV is) digital high definition with 5.1 surround sound, I just put on 004 and tell them to watch and let me know if they can tell the difference, then I flick to 804, everyone thus far is blown out of the water.

HD is amazing and everyone should have it It costs me $8/month more on my cable bill. By the way, my TV (an RCA Screnium) has built in 10/100 ethernet with Windows CE and a browser

I'm positive. I'm in Seattle, ABC 4, ABCHD 104, etc. No CBS in HD. I dont' think it's a CBS problem but the local CBS channel KIRO. Which I believe is owned by Cox Cummincations, which is also a cable company. I may be wrong on that but I'm not wrong on the fact I'm watching Pats/Colts in SD

GOT2LIV4HIM: you haven't seen HD yet. Not only 16x9 but a lot clearer picture and 5.1 surround sound. Once you see it you'll understand. Also the only reason I got the HD was for football. Right now there isn't much content that I like that's in HD.

HD like amazingly clear so much so that I watching things in HD just because they are in High Definition....

You don't know life until you've seen beavers build a damn then mate in HD. Discovery HD, man I watch home remodeling shows now just because they are in HD. Green is the best in HD, football, baseball, etc. (most golf isn't HD for some reason) basketball is nice. I find myself, during baseball games in HD, looking at fans because they are so much clearer and sharper. It's like Doom I vs Doom III
