  • Xenarc 700IDT - anyone info on this one?

When just looking on the site of Xenarc I found this one:
    http://www.xenarc.com/product/700IDT.html

Does anyone know something about prices for this? Because on XenarcDirect I couldn't find any.
And also how about resellers in Europe? Shipping to Europe from the US is far too costly.
Why is it drug addicts and computer afficionados are both called users?

    Currently : Audi A6 - no install

Second install : VW Passat '97 CarPC
    First install : '87 Audi 80 CarPC

I haven't seen any prices posted yet at Xenarc's sites. I'm surmising $100-$150 more for the in-dash unit over their regular vga/touchscreen units.
P4 2.4GHz, Intel mobo w/onboard sound & video, 128MB memory, 100GB Seagate Momentus laptop drive, Xenarc 700TSV 7" touchscreen, IRman using Girder, 150W Opus dc/dc psu, Alpine CDA-9835 h/u, MBQuart speakers, Infinity 15" sub, MTX amps.

Beware. It isn't motorized. It is spring loaded.

            Thanks everyone.
I've read the other thread, the one the link refers to.
I don't really mind it not being motorised, but I am kinda worried about the mechanics. The thing is, I already have a Xenarc 700TSV. So I'm not going to buy the same screen with a crappy opening mechanism. So I'll follow up the post in the other thread and see if more people have some experience with this screen.

$700 for that, and it's not even motorized? They're insane.

I agree on that one. And those are American prices. If you are living in Europe, you can probably add up another 100$ or so.

Well, the price I got was a hookup from a friend who is a dealer. I can direct you to them if you would like, and I am sure you will get a fair price.

Well the problem is that I'm living in Europe.
So the costs for shipping would probably ruin the whole discount.
I think it is best for me to stick to a European dealer for that reason.
But I'm kinda curious how big the price difference really is with the States.

And perhaps have you got any comments on the unit? Because before spending quite some cash on it I would like to know whether it is worth it or not.

BTW, thanks for the offer, I'm sorry I'll have to pass it though...
