  • XMD1000 locks up my carputer.

I've been out of the carputer game for over a month and just before life got in the way, I had my XMD working on a laptop, but could never get it working on my carputer.

I have the hybrid-mobile cable and an XMD1000 that work perfeclty with hybrid mobile's EXEM software. However, when the exact same components are plugged into COM1 on the carputer, I get the blue screen of death when Win2K is trying to boot up. This is a hardware problem, but I have no clue where to start the diagnosis.

The OLD problem I had was my carputer would not see the data from the XMD. I never got that fixed. I finally got back to diagnosis today and the problem is even worse, now. I'm tempted to buy a serial to USB cable!!!

Anybody got any ideas on why I would suddenly have W2K locking up only when the cable and XMD are plugged in and only on one computer??
My first attempt at a carputer.

Problem was resolved by using a serial-USB adapter cable. XMD works perfectly now as a USB component.
