  • Speaker 'pop' from something else

    Hi guys,

A friend of mine just put some foglights on his Mitsubishi Outlander. They're powered off a relay that goes straight to the battery, and whenever he turns them off, he hears a loud pop over his stereo, kinda like the amp 'pop' that some MP3Car users hear when their power supplie turns off at a different time then the amp.

Any suggestions on how to get rid of this? The usual answers for carputers (having the power supply control the offending item) doesn't really apply here.

Hmm, where should we put the diode? On the positive line going to the battery?

should go between the positive and the ground of the relay, that way when the relay releases the emf pulse just goes back into the coil.
