For some people don't know, they probably mistaken it as a whole PC instead of just an external drive.

Probably just four 250GB's for the 1TB and four 400GB's for the 1.6TB. Mobile file server anyone?

Can I touch it? Pure Machismo, 1TB portable! Bigger, better, Faster! I wonder if it comes with a ring so you can put it on your keychain? It's "portable" right?!

                    it has 4 250gb 7200rpm drives in a RAID 0 array for the 1TB

just look at the specs... the "Buffer" gives it away...also maybe them saying a "RAID 0" in the 3rd item of page might be a giveaway as well.

I heard the LaCie drives are kinda crappy. I was looking to buy a 500GB drive but after reading a lot of reviews, I moved on.

Anyone ever had a La Cie drive of any kind and if so any thoughts?

                            really?

I always kinda got the impression that they were rather nice, but then again, I didn't do any research into them either....I would like to know what other people have to say about their stuff....

The RAID0 kills the idea IMHO. Christ loosing a terabyte of data in one failure, ugh.
