    Hi

    just a quick question, is it safe to install/place the motherboard on a back plate behind the dash without a case. I have limmited sapce behind my dash (honda accord) but enough to squese every thing without a case. will this cause any problems???

    Here is my case:

    It's been that way for a little over 2 months now and I've had no problems w/ it.

      WOW!!!

      What psu are you using?? what about the heat build up?
      and is the harddrive sitting ontop of the motherboard?

        Audioforge Car Power Package 200 watt PSU w/ ITPS, the ITPS is velcroed to the right side of the pic so the heat doesn't affect the motherboard.

        Haven't had any heat issues yet, including the 2.5 hr. trip last month while running the heat in the car.

                What are the chance of getting interfearence form other componets if i slot the motherboard behind the dash without a case????

                  Well ive decided to stick it in the boot for now, wont be using the cd/dvd drive much as im mainly going to use it for nav and mp3s

                    just ground the case using the holes for motherboard headers.

                    I'd also be worried about moisture, and HDD vibration, and dust

                      You mean earth the case, why??? i thought only the psu needed to be earthed/grounded?
