  • other brands of slim-slot dvd drives

so since the darn panasonic seems to not want to work in my car with my set-up......

who else out there makes the slim-slots?

links would be good as well....

I thought Nu made some but I can't find them on NewEgg.....

    anyone?

I know there aren't that many out there in the first place......

lol given up then! possibly look for an OEM one out of a laptop on ebay or summit. I know that IBM drives jsut have an adapter screwed on the back to make them fit their laptops. Thay might have some other than panasonic in use. Have you tried updating the frimware on your drive?

I got one that came out of an imac. They were selling for around $35 on ebay. I don't know if they're still available though, it was a couple years ago.

I don't know about the pioneer, but the imac drive is slim, not a regular 5.25" drive. By the power of Google, here's a pic (their prices are heinous though) http://www.mac-pro.com/s.nl/sc.2/it....ategory.114/.f
