  • hdd power consumption

i was just curious as to how much of a difference in power consumption there is between a 2.5 hdd, and a 3.5 hdd..... for the difference in price, if a 3.5 doesnt pull that much more power, i may go that route. thanks in advance

Look up specs, they should be available on the manufacturer's sites. I expect a fair difference though. Also note that the RPM of the drives is going to make a difference as well.

One runs off of the 12V rail (3.5) and the other off of the 5V rail (2.5) if I am not mistaken.
