  • low profile PC2100 for Casetronics Travla c158

    MB is VIA EPIA M10000.

I'm looking for a place in the US to buy 512MB low profile RAM at a decent price. Height restriction is 1.125" for this case(c158).

    A few other questions:
Do they make RAM at this height or do I need to get Ultra Low Profile (.8")
Can the RAM be registered, ECC with this MB?

cappuccinopc.com and I think logicsupply.com sells the .8" ram you asked. The 1.125" seems like as standard memory height, just check the specs on the manufacturers website to get exact heights. Ram for epia is unregistered non ECC for the most part, but I think it supports the more expensive ECC and registered modules just fine. Why pay more though?

You can fit standard RAM in the C158.

Choose Kinston ValueRAM and you'll never have any problems.

Really? I know you can fit standard RAM in the c138 but I didn't think you could in the c158. Specs say max ram hieght is 1.125". Standard RAM is 1.25.

How do you know? Just curious since you have a different case in your sig. Thanks for the input by the way. This could save me some $$.

Thanks. Standard memory seems to be 1.25". I found a lot of "low profile" memory that was 1.2 and meant for servers (registered ECC). I've found ATP memory @ 1.15" but case specs say I need under 1.125". I'll check cappuccinopc.com. Thanks for the recomendation.

Where are you reading those specs? Logic supply says it's 1.25 restriction.
