You could try installing it under a compatability mode. Make a shortcut to the install file, right click on that shortcut and choose properties. Click on the Compatibility tab and check off run this program in compatibility mode for..., you can then choose 95 or 98/ME, try both, somtimes if one doesn't work the other will. Hope that helps.

I had a very simiilar problem. it turned out ot be a problem with XP someone i know sent me a fix. But i`ve just had to format my PC so i dont have the file anymore.
But it was on MS`s website, they should b able to help u.
