    Been out for awhile. I recommend getting the Hitachi/IBM 1.8" drives if you're planning to use them in a CarPC, though. The Hitachi have a standard 44 pin (notebook) IDE (at least that's what's pictured, and what the 1.8" enclosure I bought uses) connector, whereas the Toshiba have an odd connector.

    Only downside is price, a 20GB 1.8" Hitachi drive will run ~$100, 40GB ~140. Hmm, come to think of it, that's only about a $40 premium compared to 2.5" notebook drives.

        Yeah, poopoo at the speed. For that much of a performance hit, it's just not worth it for me.

          True, unless your one of the minimalists (CF guys), for them this would make a great data drive.

            Yup I agree in the speed thing guys but products like that indicate what is the current trend in the industry. Smaller dimensions, Bigger capacities, Efficiency but not yet fast....you got to start from somewhere...
