At $1,300 at Fry's, it is not a bad price for something that gives you GPS, Satellite, MP3, Video, and almost all the goodies a carputer can, less Internet and phone control of course.

I see three issues with it:

1- You are stuck with Sirius - No XM fans allowed!
2- You need a flat dash and good windshield clearance to use it. Disqualifies a lot of cars.
3- It is no fun because there is no installation involved, I don't know about you guys, but I get my kick out of a nicely executed project that I do with my own hands.

They are almost there but not just yet. Problem is 0 flexability but they do have about 3/4 of the stuff we can do with that unit.

A great advance, I hope one day skins, wifi, other apps of your chooseing, more connections etc will be able to integrate into a system like this with a quality motorized LCD screen.

      .... getting closer though

I am surprised to see no DVD support
You can still have something if you have nothing

Sorry to bump an old thread (better than posting a duplicate though, no?)...

But has anyone had a chance to play with one of these?

Despite its shortcomings in processing power, the features and pricing (from ebay, at least) put this within reach for myself, and would allow me to use it in more than one car.

I can't seem to find any proper reviews other than this one: http://www.crutchfieldadvisor.com/IS...rion_nice.html

          Any feedback is appreciated!

Has anybody done or seen any updates for mapping software for the N.I.C.E unit?
