  • How to flash BIOS (Mini-ITX)?

Could anyone please help me to describe step by step how to flash BIOS on a Mini-ITX motherboard?
I know it have been a topic on the forums before, but when I ed, I couln't find an answer.

I think I have a clue how to do, but since I don't want to mess up something, it would be great to get a correct step by step guide

VIA has instructions on their site, I believe, alongside the files you need.

You need to go to the website of the manufacturer of your motherboard. I'd spoon-feed you a link, but you declined to tell us what make/model of motherboard you run. Every motherboard manufacturer has different methods of flashing the BIOS.
VIA isn't the only manufacturer of miniITX boards, so linking to their instructions may or may not help you.

I'm going to resurrect my standing as the forum ******* here...
You need to read the f*****g manual (or the website), buddy.

I don't get how people seem to think that this forum is the answer to everyone's computer issues or questions. I guess it makes some semblance of sense, considering we're putting a computer in a very unlikely location and making it work.... I guess that makes us 'experts' or something.
      This is completely ridiculous.
I wouldn't even think of going to a forum to ask how to flash a motherboard BIOS (or a dozen other questions that I, personally, don't feel should be asked in these forums. I'd go to the manufacturer's website. But maybe I know better and that makes me a non-n00b? I don't know.

And I'm hijacking a thread with another rant.
Have you looked in the FAQ yet?
      How about the Wiki?

Under normal circumstances, a signature would go here.

Yes, I am a n00b, and yes, I am sorry for wasting your time...
Guess I could tell you the name of my MB, fall down on my knees and beg you for help......but, when I come to think about it, I don't want any help, because the attitude in this forum is to damn agressive....

Well come on you did ask for a rant!

You ask how to do the bios without giving a make or model. Not all bios upgrades are the same and it does tell you in a readme file with any bios upgrade how to do it.

How the hell do you expect people to help if you dont give all the info? And did you actually spend 5 minutes looking on your board manufacturers site to see how to do it?

If you want advice then do some searches and ask for some pointers, dont jsut ask to spoon fed basic info.

One important thing is make sure your PC is on a stable supply before you do a bios update and dont turn any high draw devices on that are attached to the same wall socket jsut incase you case a power glitch when the bios is writing.
