  • Casette deck for your carpc

i know many of you probably already know about this, but seeing as i haven't found a thread for this yet, I'm rising to the occasion.

basically, for those who have regretfully ditched your ancient FM/cassette headunits for a brand spanking new carpc, this might tickle your fancy:

The PlusDeck 2 is a full-logic cassette deck for your PC. Use it to archive your old cassette tapes of 80s hair bands into digital media files for playback on your PC. Or better yet, archive your favorite audio files or streams onto cassette - perfect for playback in your '78 Midget that is still not sporting an in-dash CD player. (Those of you still in the 8-track days will have to keep waiting for a PC-friendly solution I'm afraid...)

Myself, I see the PlusDeck as the ultimate in retro-cool PC mods. Add a CoolerMaster Musketeer for the analog guages, and you've got some nice old-school sweetness in your modern day gaming rig.

No! This is the stupidest thing ever. If you are still using tapes and are on the internet you need to not be doing one or the other.

LOL thats awesome! I could see this tape deck solution for somebody thats older who had a large collection of cassettes, but at this point if your still buying cassettes, or if you have any that still sound very good, there's something wrong. Maybe it would be better used in your home desktop and then you can drag stuff over that way, but going out of your way to install it into your car for like 20 or even 50 tapes to be ripped over and then never really used again seems dumb.

              $150 is WAY too expensive!!

If you want a cassette, maybe you ought to be using this as the base for your carputer:
