  • LCD Controller Question??

I read that if you bought one of the Sharp Touchscreens on ebay mated with the 3m touchscreen piece you would need a "will definately need a conntoller, inverter and also a touchscreen controller if that" Could someone explain what the purpose/ function of each of these is ??

Well, the LCD is useless without a controller. The controller converts VGA signal into a usable form of signal that is fed into the LCD.

What if the LCD has a VGA input? It's not necessary then?

Sweet, one more question then, what's the power source normally for a monitor? is it just through a direct fused wire on the battery? or from an inverter ?

It's most commonly from either a fused wire on the battery or many people hook it up to their power supply to filter and regulated the power.

Inverter isn't usually necessary unless it's a desktop unit. Then all bets are off.
