  • bluetooth cell headset: solution to incar mic problem?

just wondering if anyone has tried using a bluetooth cell phone headset with their carpc yet? imo, this would be the best and most awesome solution to the current incar microphone problem. but im just curious if anyone has even tried getting their carpc to recognize and use the headset?

well if you search around aparently a few people have done it. according to some people certain driver issues cause windows to recognize it as a new device EVERY time your PC is restarted

wait im confused you mean use the bt headset for a mic and put it somewhere?

doesn't it send the sound through the bt headset as well though?

I have a huge logitech usb mic not sure where to put it yet though...

you would just use the bluetooth headset profile as your mic input, no sound would be sent back to the headset

It is 100% possible, but it gets reset for some reason. I think that Frodo wrote a program to put it back in its place on every bootup

wel, i did search but my keywords came up with nothing on the subject. but thx for the info. maybe someone can find a good fix to this or something. maybe do something as simple as a very simplistic fm transmitter fitted to the headset and a small radio wired to the mic input on the computer? who knows. but it sure brings up some interesting solutions the more i think of it.

No, I mean an actual cellphone headset will work. The registry just needs to be rewriten to every time you boot up (or resume from hibernation ).

yeh everytime i the pc booted all the sounds where goingin through the the headset, so i had to move them back over to the SB audigy except the mic, which got me ****ed off so i installed a proper one

i know 0l33l. im just saying that maybe rather than trying to find a way to get the actual bluetooth to recognize properly every time, hack up a headset and use a very simple mono fm transmitter to get it to the computer to the actual mic port.

I wouldn't bother doing it like that

Anyone know if it's possible to setup a pair of bluetooth headsets for communication using one host computer?

I want to do the same but with a little twist. I'm pretty sure that these earpieces have a hotkey on them designed to answer an incoming call or set a mobile phone into voice recognition to dial.

Now - I want to use this same feature with the PC. All I need is for the PC to be able to detect when the hotkey on the bluetooth earpiece is pressed. Is this possible? I've got some interesting tricks up my sleeve.
