  • Anyone run 7200rpm 2.5" drives?

Im currently running a 2.5" 5400rpm drive and its performance over a 3.5" 5400rpm is less. Ive noticed coming out of hibernation takes a little bit longer

So Im thinking about maybe upgrading to a 7200rpm drive to speed things up a bit
Anyone had good performance out of them?
I know they use more power but a performance increase would be worth it

Well, yeh you'll get more performance from a 7200rpm. The HD is one of the biggest bottlenecks during bootup according to MS.

I have one of these hard drives and the 16meg cache speeds it up nicely http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...sPageName=WDVW

I'm running the Hitachi Travelstar 7k60 hard drive in my laptop... 60GB at 7200 RPM in the 2.5" formfactor... I haven't had any problems with it, though it does run a tad warm. It's nice and fast, however, especially given the slow speeds of the other laptop hard drives... http://www.zipzoomfly.com/jsp/Produc...ode=100519-RFB
