  • CarPC w/ Carnetix 1260 windows shutting down...?

I am not sure why, but close after boot-up windows starts its shutdown sequence and shuts down. The carnetix blinks on off on off (one led solid, one blinking at a steady rate). That was when it was 92 degrees outside. Went to dinner with my girlfriend for like 2 hrs and came back, it was 82, the PC worked for a while, played songs etc, then shutdown again shortly after...

Oh, its not a PC problem because the Lilliput (hooked to carnetix) turns off too and won't come back on until i switch ignition on/off. Does the carnetix have a temp protection circuit? What would cause it to do this?

Try posting in the Carnetix forums. They're good about answering although MikeH also monitors these forums pretty closely.

      Urinemachine,

Sounds like an overcurrent condition. What components do you have connected to the P1260?

MikeH, for what it's worth, it didn't do it today! I had the a/c on and windows down when driving and it only got to 82o today. I have a lilliput direct to the carnetix, im using the remote out to turn on 3 amps, i am using it hooked up to my carpc (morex 70w), and other than that, thats it.

Epia 10k, Audigy 2 NX, and a hard drive (desktop drive). Now its driving a 80mm Panaflo fan, with no lid on the case, and it's fine, no issues any longer.

I'm glad to hear that, but I'd say you are pushing the limit of the P1260 with an Audigy 2NX and desktop HDD. Be careful..
