  • Opus CarPC Case .. anyone have it?

I just recently started thinking about upgrading my carpc components, and in my research I decided to look for a new case. I have in the past either modified old cases or built plexi or wooden ones; however I want a well designed (for car use) case that would also fit under my passenger seat. I believe I found that case, and it comes with the latest version of Opus' power supply (though, I've already got their older 150w version). It is for sell on the mp3car.com online store for $379 bucks, model MPX-ITX-CD.

Has anyone used this case or seen it in person, or anything? I was thinking of upgrading to an MII-12000 or SP-13000 and using this case, but it seems soooo expensive, and there is no option to purchase without the dc-dc psu.

Also does this case have the ability to plug up some sort of adapter to use it in the house easily?

    Any thoughts/suggestions/help is welcomed.

I actually have it! It is a great case! Not exactly the smallest case but it is still small. And no u have to get PC powersupply to conect to the mobo in order to work on it in the house!

From the pictures it appears as though it would be too big to fit underneath a car seat. I have never seen it in person though

        Shelbrain,

According tot he dimensions it is 3.2" tall, which is PERFECT for my seats at least. as long as it sneaks in under 3 5/8" approx., then we're good to go. I'm just so skeptical about spending that kinda dough on a carpc case when i've already got an opus dc-dc and without actually being able to "test" the case in my current carpc setup. I dunno if Zip-Lock or the other mp3car.com store admins would let me do that.

Anyway thanks for the input. Cheekz if you could and it's not too much trouble, could you snap some pics of it in your setup, including an opened pic with your gear installed? I'd really appreciate that.

        Thanks!

I have one; haven't got it set up yet. It is well built. Still working on getting the bios to wake up on my Via PD1000 mb. The biggest problem has been finding time to work on it.
